That clutch argument is bogus too, you obviously didnt watch his series against the kings....... KG is a superstar right at that level. you will see that this year now that he is on a great team with 2 true star players in his supporting cast (far far far far far better than what he had around him in 2004, in terms of the big 3 he's a part of, and in terms of the team overall). You'll see.... as for the article, Dwyane Wade is absolutely amazing. that finals series was absolutely a whole lnew level.... classic performance. even better than he usually was doing in his first 3 years in the playoffs til that point.... amazing. people that forgot about the greatness of flash are gonna be reminded of it real hard this coming season.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2683391214064242907.post-83445655918015069592007-09-01T12:22:00.000-04:002007-09-01T12:22:00.000-04:00Yeah Wade when he had Odom was a rookie. Players like Wade and Iverson can be bumped, hacked, tackled, thrown to the floor, but they will stand up and continue.. that's toughness.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2683391214064242907.post-43879992204367294672007-08-29T20:25:00.000-04:002007-08-29T20:25:00.000-04:00Saying that wade is tough as one of your reasons i...Saying that wade is tough as one of your reasons is kinda crazy because when he dislocated his shoulder he was crying like a baby. I know that can be painfull but i have seen many people do it and none of them have cried, and like a week later when livingston broke his knee in everyway possible he wasnt crying from that so i would not put dwayne wade and tough togetherAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2683391214064242907.post-79703494583609654392007-08-29T17:26:00.000-04:002007-08-29T17:26:00.000-04:00I agree that wade is an absolute monster, top 3, a...I agree that wade is an absolute monster, top 3, and is somehow still overlooked. However, I'm not going to strip kobe of what he has, nor crown wade as sole king of the league.
Duncan is obviously you're most valuable player in this league, cause he's the most dominant big man out there, and that equals wins. I would then mix in kobe, wade, lebron, and nash after that. Wade was a beast in that final, but I actually think kobe can pull off that same scenario, and I also think wade's youth, in addition to shaq's decline participated in that 2.5 game free fall to dallas. The role guys on that heat team stepped it up and helped wade make up for an ailing shaq. That is always so quickly forgotten with regards to that series.
If Nash was a little younger I'd take him over wade, cause I think he equates to more regular season wins, and even now, when he wants to he takes over games with 25+ points and over a dozen dimes. I believe even with less talent the consistency and routine that nash brings to his position makes it much easier to win in the regular season. Playoffs is a different story...
Throw Lebron in wherever you want, he is a beast, and can go anywhere from 1 to 4 probably.
I wrote mainly to address kg. I think he's a borderline fake superstar, a la chris webber as peter vescey called him. KG's talent is unquestioned, but I would never put his ability to get it done with the likes of duncan, kobe, wade, or even lebron at this point. KG is a statistics freak, that absolutely dominates the long basketball game, and does also acrue those numbers in the playoffs as well. His career will benefit greatly from how drawn out an NBA game is. However, a first option he is not, a person that elevates the rest of the team he is not(to the level his superstar peers do), and a problem for the other team in the cluth...he is not. Not anymore than say, antawn jamison. I would have lebron, nash, wade, kobe, and duncan all ahead of him. If Dirk didn't let dallas lose to miami, I'd put him ahead of kg as well, and I would entertain the discussion anyway, cause to me kg hasn't done anything that would clearly put him ahead of dirk.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2683391214064242907.post-5364048842036018752007-08-29T15:15:00.000-04:002007-08-29T15:15:00.000-04:00You can't fault Wade for getting away with carryin...You can't fault Wade for getting away with carrying - he gets away with more than basically anyone, like Jordan before him. And LeBron is a close second for getting away with murder. And, yeah, LeBron has looked good in FIBA - so that makes him better than Wade. Give me a break. I'm talking about winning baby, not just individual skill. Lebronzi's 22, just wait a few years.
